We are thrilled to announce the launch of a new book series dedicated to Law & Political Economy (LPE) scholarship by Cambridge University Press, and we are already inviting book proposals!
The series, fittingly titled Law & Political Economy, will provide a platform for this dynamic and emergent wave of scholarship and will constitute a point of reference for engaged and socially relevant legal research. LPE is a rapidly growing movement, invested in both legal theory and praxis. LPE interrogates the constitutive role of law in setting up key institutions of the economic order, and it is defined by a normative commitment to a democratic political economy. The scope of the book series will be “horizontal”, cross-cutting a wide range of legal subdisciplines. Its centripetal forces will be the analytical focus on the distributive and power-conferring effects of legal regimes and the contribution to a shared critical agenda that revolves around the role of law for a project of democratic political economy.
We are keen to stress that the series aims at fostering LPE debates not only in North America and in the UK, but across the globe. Furthermore, the series will privilege monographs and will welcome submissions by scholars at all stages of their careers.
If you would like to submit a book proposal, please do get in touch with the publisher (email: tobias.ginsberg@cambridge.org) or the editors (see below).
We look forward to receiving and discussing your proposals!
