The Law and Political Economy Project At-Large Group was created to give law students a chance to engage with the Project and its ideas for those who lack a group at their school. We are comprised of law students from across the country, who meet and discuss topics relevant to our legal education and the profession. Our goal is to both inform ourselves of and challenge the societal messaging and ideology of the prevailing capitalist hierarchy. As such, discussions center around the law’s role in the existing neoliberal system. Through readings we learn about the history of the law’s connections to varied areas of policy its use today as the enforcer of unequal systems. Currently, we meet on Wednesdays at 8:00pm EST on Microsoft Teams. Readings are chosen according to weekly topics and draw from a mix of research, policy papers, and news sources, where relevant.
