The NSSR LPE is a student-led organization out of The New School of Social Research, Department of Economics. Our focus critically examines political economy as it relates to the law. The law can either maintain or contest power. We repudiate the proposition of “the free market” and all other neoliberal myths. Capitalism is not a natural system that exists without interference or guidance from governments and laws. Through workshops, reading groups, working paper presentations, and conferences, we strive to be part of the ongoing dynamic conversation to reconstruct the political economy to center cooperation, sustainability, and justice.
NSSR LPE welcomes all perspectives from heterodox economic schools of thought that acknowledge LPE as an emancipatory tool. Contact us if you have ideas for collaborating.
