Building on our recent event, LPE NYC Night School is examining how we can make real, lasting change in NYC. How do we contend with the outsized power of finance and real estate and build a world-class city for working-class New Yorkers?
Join LPE NYC on November 19 at 6:30pm at CUNY Law School as we take on this question with NYC Councilmember Sandy Nurse and Fiscal Policy Institute Executive Director Nathan Gusdorf, in a conversation moderated by Corinne Blalock. This conversation will explore the kinds of changes necessary to reshape our city’s political economy, while also looking at the nuts and bolts of how change actually happens in NYC, including the powers and limitations of local government. We hope that this event will provide guidance and inspiration to everyone fighting for a more just and equal NYC.
